De La Rosa Japonés Nishiyama

Japanese-Style Coated Peanuts

(4)
1.5 oz

Mexican Japanese-Style peanuts are extremely crunchy toasted peanuts with—wait for it—an awesome, unique soy sauce kick. They’re delicious and fun to eat by the handful, though don’t get too carried away; you still have to share! They were created by Yoshigei Nakatani, a Japanese man who immigrated to Mexico in 1932. He took what he knew of Japanese snacks, added it to widely available ingredients in Mexico (peanuts, wheat candy, chamoy) and created something that hundreds of thousands of people love worldwide today. These coated peanuts are very similar to the Japanese Onoroke-Mame—a testament to their global appeal. Every year, Mexico produces over 30,000 tons of Japanese-Style peanuts… good news, because once you’ve had some, you want to just keep having more!

These were okay, but Japanese coated in a Mexico box is really strange, and really not much to share

Debra, EASTON, PA

These were very good, but again the bag was really small.
