Barratt’s Sherbert Fountain

Fizzy • Sweet • Sour

(3)

In the UK, sherbet is not a type of ice-cream like in America. It's a zingy powder that pops and fizzes on your tongue in a bubbly burst of sweet and sour.

Despite the name, this isn't an actual fountain of sherbet: it's a stick of licorice that you use as a spoon, a bit like a Fun Dip. The sticky, dark, almost-bitter aniseed taste of licorice goes brilliantly with the sweet effervescent sherbet powder as you lick it off.

Concept is similar to a “fun dip” in the US, but with black licorice for the dipping stick and some sort of bland powder to dip it in. I was not able to eat it. Not good at all.

Tasted a bit like flour…not much flavor 🙁

Very strange, didn’t like it. Maybe for kids.
